Some device manufacturer disable those codes from enabling the mtk device settings. Case in point: TechCrunch recently reported that more than 97 percent of all venture-funded businesses have male CEOs, and this is not exactly music to the ears of women CEOs seeking funding! Women and men are different, and I spend some of my time figuring out ways to use that truth as an advantage as I build NoteStream. I simply will not let a mere statistic stand in my way of securing funding for growth
Statistics will often be a distraction, or even misleading. It is vitally important to understand the marketplace, the industry, and the opportunities, but those intimidating statistics are a representation of the past. They don’t represent what the future holds as innovators set forth.

How to upgrade to Windows 10 without waiting in line

Microsoft's Windows 10 upgrade is rolling out to millions of PCs worldwide. Over 14 million machines are now running Windows 10, but are you still waiting for your upgrade notification? If so, there's an easy way to avoid the line and download Windows 10 and upgrade straight away.

Firstly, back up all your files and data just in case. If you're on Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 then head over to Microsoft's Windows 10 download page. If you're on a 32-bit version of Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, then download the 32-bit tool, and if you're using a 64-bit version, then grab the 64-bit tool. You can check your Windows version by right clicking on My Computer or This PC in File Explorer and going to properties, and it will be listed under system type.

Run the tool and then select the upgrade your PC option. Windows 10 will start downloading, and once it's ready you'll be presented with three options: keep personal files and apps, keep personal files only, and nothing. Select the first option (keep personal files and apps) to ensure your PC upgrades and you keep your files and applications. Windows 10 will start installing and after a few reboots and customizations you'll be upgraded. If you install Windows 10 and decide you want to go back to Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 then you can safely restore by going to settings > update & security > and choose the option to go back to Windows 7 or Windows 8.1.

Interswitch partners with BlackBerry to integrate payments through BBM in Nigeria

Interswitch, Africa's leading digital payments and commerce provider, has announced the integration of its Quickteller services with BlackBerry's BBM. Through the use of the new app called Quickteller Mini, BBM users with a Nigerian bank account can make a request for money, airtime and payment for services from one of their BBM contacts. In much the same way as PayPal through BBM works, you simply select the attachment option, choose Quickteller, enter the amount and make a request.

How to transfer files using Wi-Fi Direct on BlackBerry 10

Wi-Fi Direct isn't a new feature to BlackBerry 10, in fact it has been available since OS 10.2 , so there's no time like the present to do so. After all, you might be new to the BlackBerry 10 OS and didn't realise this was something you could do. I've actually started using it more as I recently got hold of a BlackBerry Leap and usually I use NFC to transfer photos and files between my devices but since the Leap does not have NFC, I've had to find other ways and W-iFi Direct was the next best thing.
One thing to note is if you're a BlackBerry Z10 you won't find this option, unfortunately.
To transfer files over Wi-Fi Direct both devices must be in the same physical location to each other but you don't require an Internet connection.

How to transfer files using Wi-Fi Direct

1. On both devices, turn on the WiFi - Settings->Networks and Connections->WiFi
2. Tap the Wi-Fi Direct tab
3. On the sending-device, navigate to the file you want to share (you can share documents, photos, videos, etc). Also, note that you can send multiple files at the same time. Just use the select more option to choose more than one file/photo.
4. Tap on Share and choose Wi-Fi Direct from the list
5. Devices able to receive via Wi-Fi Direct will be displayed, choose the device from the list. (Note: If you don't do Step 2, you won't see a device appear here)

1. On the receiving-device, a Connection Request toast will appear, tap Accept
2. Another toast notification will appear asking you to accept the File Transfer over Wi-Fi Direct, tap Yes and the file will send

Quick and easy, right?
If you wanted, you could make the Connection Request at Step 2, after to go into the Wi-Fi Direct tab. When the list of devices appear, on one device just tap the name of the other device and the Connection Request toast will appear, just Accept the connect here. This means later on, when sharing the file you would only have to say Yes to the file transfer.

Take Pictures Using Your Headphones

Pressing the volume-up button on Apple’s official headphones will snap a picture with the iPhone’s camera app. This is a useful trick if you’re setting up your phone on a tripod or want to ensure your shot is steady, as you won’t have to press a button on the screen to take a photo. You can also take a picture by hitting the volume buttons on the side of the iPhone itself.

Shake to Undo

Typed an error into a text or email? Simply shake the iPhone to bring up the option to Undo your last action. The gesture works in iMessage, Mail and other default apps, but developers can also implement the feature, so try it in all kinds of different apps.

Take High-Quality Photos

There’s an easy way to automatically make your iPhone camera take better pictures. With the Camera app open, select HDR On at the top of the screen to take a high dynamic range picture. An HDR photo takes three pictures of a scene and combines the best parts of each to make an image that best captures what the human eye sees.

It’s especially useful for landscapes, pictures in sunlight and photos in low light. If you’re not sure when an HDR photo is appropriate, select HDR Auto at the top of the Camera app, and the iPhone will automatically determine when to use the feature.

Enable Read Receipts

If you want to receive a text from a friend, not reply for a while, but let her know you read it, read receipts are the feature for you. The iMessage function lets other iPhone users know exactly what time you read their texts, similar to how BlackBerry’s BBM worked. Create Keyboard Shortcuts

You can create custom text shortcuts for long words or phrases you often use, like an email address. In the Settings menu, select General, then select Keyboard, then Add New Shortcut. The first field will ask for the long phrase you want to use and the second field will ask for the shortcut you want to stand in for the longer phrase. After the shortcut has been saved, if you type it into iMessage and press the space bar, it will automatically transform into the longer phrase.

Make your phone flash for text message alerts

Sometimes a phone vibration or chime isn’t enough to alert you to a new text message. You can use the iPhone’s LED flash as another alert signal. Simply open the Settings menu, select General, Select Accessibility, then toggle LED Flash for Alerts on.

MASTERCARD TO USE SELFIE FOR BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION

MasterCard Friday has announced at the ongoing TECH+ Conferences and Expo in Lagos that it is developing selfie technology for biometric authentication for online payments to eliminate fraud. Omoke Ojomuyidele, business head of Mastercard told attendees at the well-attended TECH+ that the innovation will contribute to boosting cashless initiative in Nigeria. “MasterCard says that to use the upcoming function, customers will be required to download the MasterCard app on their phones and once an online purchase is at the checkout stage, the app will push through a request asking authorisation before payment is submitted.” According to her, MasterCard reckons that we are today in a world where the new generation of selfie-takers now account for over 93 million people across the globe that take selfie on their Android phones on a daily basis. By statistics cited by MasterCard, the tech payment giant wants to use the innovation to provide what people do to take them where they want, she adds. “Mastercard will launch a pilotprogramme with 500 participants over the next few months to develop infrastructure to prove purchase without the need to enter password”, Ojomuyidele told the TECH+ audience. According to the MasterCard exec, “the world is changing to a point where there is a global shift to electronic and the cloud is maturing everyday thereby making the line between physical and digital commerce blur by the day.” MasterCard says that to use the upcoming function, customers will be required to download the MasterCard app on their phones and once an online purchase is at the checkout stage, the app will push through a request asking authorisation before payment is submitted.
